This is a requirement from Apple to monitor visited places. The permanent location access is safe and energy-efficient - it uses iOS's built-in location services that only activate when there are significant location changes, not constant GPS tracking. This allows Acti to automatically record your places while keeping battery usage minimal.
Why does Acti ask for push notifications?
Because Acti doesn't know your email or other personal data, push notifications are the only way to notify you about new places you've visited to keep Acti up-to-date. We promise not to send any ads in push notifications - they're only used to help you maintain your memory timeline.
How does Acti handle photos?
Acti only stores links to your photos, not the actual image files. This keeps the app lightweight and respects your device storage. However, if you delete photos from your device's photo library, the links in Acti will become broken and won't display the images anymore. We recommend keeping your photos in your device's photo library to maintain the complete memory experience in Acti.
